Oficiálna stránka programu Horizont 2020, ktorý je rozpočtovaný na sedem rokov a má rozpočet 80 mld. eur je zameraný na výskum a inovácie, prostredníctvom ktorých by sa mal dosiahnuť udržateľný ekonomický rast a priemyselné líderstvo. Je teda pravdou, že tento program je prepojený s priemyslom.
