na minulotýždňovom rokovaní ministrov zahraničných vecí Severoatlantickej aliancie bolo jasne konštatované, že po rokoch, kedy sa Aliancia venovala skôr svojim operáciám mimo územia krajín Aliancie, teraz aj v dôsledku diania na Ukrajine, na Kryme je potrebné konsolidovať vlastne svoje vlastné teritórium, sústrediť sa na obranyschopnosť a operačnú schopnosť vojsk Aliancie

Stretnutie ministrov zahraničných vecí NATO sa skutočne konalo 1-2.apríla 2014 v Bruseli (Belgicko).
Úvodná reč generálneho tajomníka Severoatlantickej aliancie, Andersa Fogha Rasmussena uvádza:
"Today, we will discuss how to safeguard security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area. Because Russia has shown that it is ready to use force to redraw borders and recreate dividing lines in Europe. This undermines Russia’s international commitments and the international rule of law. It is a serious concern to those of us who are committed to a Europe whole, free and at peace. And a serious challenge to which we must respond.
Today, we reaffirm our commitment to collective defence. We remain vigilant, ready and able to defend and deter against any threat."

"This crisis shows again that we cannot take security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area for granted. This is why we need to enhance our ability to operate together as Allies and with partners. And we need to provide more help to others to build up their own defence capacities."
Spoločné vyjadrenie ministrov zahraničných vecí členských krajín zo spomínaného stretnutia uvádza:
"As stated by our Heads of State and Government at the Chicago Summit in 2012, NATO is based on solidarity, Alliance cohesion, and the indivisibility of our security. In the current situation, the Alliance has already taken steps to demonstrate solidarity and strengthen its ability to anticipate and respond quickly to any challenges to Alliance security. We will continue to provide appropriate reinforcement and visible assurance of NATO’s cohesion and commitment to deterrence and collective defence against any threat of aggression to the Alliance."
